                                    Brief Answer:
It could be Lipoma or Sebaceous cyst
Detailed Answer:
Hi
If the swelling is small and arising from the superficial layers of abdomen,it could be Lipoma or Sebaceous cyst.
They can be excised completely under local anaesthesia.
After clinical examination,if at all it is arising from inside the abdomen, Ultrasound abdomen should be done.
As you are having your doctor's appointment, please let me know his opinion.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query If you have any questions,I will clarify further.
Wish you good health
Regards

i received an answer and it mentioned the lump being superficial. however this lump is not superficial, you have to press on the abdomen to see it. is the Dr's answer still the same?

                                    Brief Answer:
Diagnosis depends on the location
Detailed Answer:
Hi
If the swelling is deep, then it could be arising from abdominal muscle or coming from an organ inside the abdomen.
If it is superficial, Doctor will tell the Diagnosis. If it is deep clinically then investigations have to be done.
Hope I answered your question.
