Question : i have trigeminal neuralgia. Im taking carbamazepine 100mg twice a day. can i add prednisone 20mg twice to three daily?

                                    Brief Answer:
yes, that should be fine
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Please understand that taking Prednisone up to 60 mg daily should be done only for a few days. Then the dose should be tapered down over the course of 2-3 weeks.
There are serious long term side effects of taking high dose prednisone for a prolonged period of time.
I'd suggest talking to your prescribing doctor about how to take and taper off of the prednisone.

Dr. Robinson
