Question:

I last got periods on 14 November. I have been on birth control for 4 years now. I have underactive thyroid. I take 100mg tablet.
I have two kids.

I left the pill last month. I haven’t got my period yet. I was taking the pill femodene and microgynon.

I thought after leaving pill I’d conceive straight away but didn’t happen. I’m getting nausea bloating and pelvic side pain every other day. Iv done pregnancy test it’s negative. How can you help me to concieve? Maybe do I need to get a period in order to conceive please help thanks

Brief Answer:
Wait and watch for your menses.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Thanks for trusting us about your health care.
I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.
As per your description these symptoms could be due to hormonal imbalance or could be due to pregnancy.
As your home urine pregnancy test is negative you can go for blood beta hcg level to rule out pregnancy.
Get your thyroid profile and hemoglobin test also,as you are having thyroid problem.( it is also a cause of your missed period)
Sometimes it will take longer time to resume your menses after leaving birth control pills.
Yes it is important to resume normal menstrual cycle, so you are able to conceive fast. You have to start folic acid tablet and try alternate days sex.
You have to wait for your menses, if not resume you can take progesterone tablet for withdrawal bleeding.
Hope found useful, feel free to ask more information.
Good luck

Hello I did a pregnancy blood test it shows 2.5 negative. I am experiencing a lot of nausea and back pain. What’s the way forward? Should I take progesterone table tomorrow then experience a bleed and that will help me ovulate and increase chances of pregnancy

Brief Answer:
Yes,you can take or wait also.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
As your beta hcg level is negative, there is no chance of pregnancy in your case.
In my opinion wait and watch for your menses, you will get it in 3-4 days, otherwise you can take progesterone for withdrawal bleeding.
