I wouldn't consider it bad at all, as levothyroxine is identical as biological hormone without additives.
The only problem is to be sure that you take the right dose, that is why you need to check TSH every six months until it gets normal.
After you have found the right dose, a control once in six months is recommended.

It depends on the pathology, when thyroid cancer is suspected we do not start levothyroxine until one month after surgery when radioactive iodine is suggested.When no mslignancy is expected, levothyroxine is started immediately after surgery.
