Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic
Costochondritis can cause significant chest pain.
Typically the pain is worse with movement of the upper limb and deep breathing, it may wax and wane and there is pain on pressing on the chest wall.
The use of medications such as ibuprofen and other medications in that family is typical. If the ibuprofen is not effective, you may need a different medication since persons react differently to medication.
Can try celebrex or aleve
Also consider a heat pad to the area, 2 to 3 times daily for 10 to 15 mins. Gentle stretching of the pectoralis, may also help as well.
SOme persons however, do not respond to this therapy and require injections into the area.
If there is no change, you may want to consider this option
I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
