Question: my OB advised me to stop taking Provera after 7 days because i had some spotting. since stopping the medication about 3-4 days ago i have not started my period AND the spotting has stopped. is something wrong? i just want my period to return

After stopping Provera usually you have a withdrawal bleeding. Since you already had a spotting, this can be due to a mild hormonal disturbance also. Provera helps in stopping the spotting also. In case you want to have normal regular periods then it is best to start with a regular combined oral pill after consulting your gynecologist. IN case your periods are delayed then other hormonal tests like thyroid profile, prolactin, ultrasound scan , etc are alo needed to find out the exact cause.

if i only stopped the provera 4 days ago.. is it possible i am still too early for a withdrawal bleed? should i give myself more time?
