Question: my baby is 16 months old. he speaks mumma, dada properly.& uses non-sensical rnadom words often. BUt 2 months back, he used to speak more words (eg, fa for fan, it for light etc) now he doesnot call these item by any particualr names. Brief Answer:
Observe for language development, also for other milestones

Detailed Answer:
Hi

I have gone through the query and do understand your concern.
I won't get overly worried as other milestones are normal. Still I would suggest you to observe for language milestones. By this age ideally a child should speak 10-12 words without meaning, but now a days delayed language development is quite common because of electronic gadgets and nuclear family.
In your case the situation is a bit different as you are talking about regression of language milestones. Language regression may be an early sign of autism but without full assessment this should not be considered as it is not so common and transient change in language milestones may be just an subjective finding which may not be there in real.
At this age it is really very difficult to assess about the regression of language milestones. But if you are noticing that it is significant, please consult a child psychologist/speech therapist for detailed evaluation.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards
