Question : my cats just got hook works they are on treatment now should i be okay or do i need to get check out

Hi,

Hookworm can spread after contact with stool contaminated source or through contaminated food. If the infested cat had been in close contact with you, there is a remote possibility of infestation. In my opinion it would be good to get yourself tested (stool as well as blood) and check for infestation.

Alternatively consider discussing with your local doctor and start a course of antihelminthic medications to treat any possible infestation.

Do not be worried however, it can be treated.
