                                    Brief Answer:
Antidepressants create less risk of dependence
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Valium is a benzodiazepine which contains diazepam which causes side effects such as confusion, depression, dysarthria, headache, slurred speech, tremor, vertigo, constipation, nausea, blurred vision, diplopia and dizziness
It is better to avoid using them long term
In general, antidepressants, especially selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as sertraline (Zoloft), are as effective as and safer than benzodiazepines for the long-term treatment of panic disorder and generalized anxiety.
Antidepressants have the advantage of relieving depression as well as anxiety, and they create less risk of dependence.
Regards
