Brief Answer:
I think too it should be stopped gradually.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.

I have read your query and here is my advice.

I think too that since there are present adverse effects of Levetiracetam, it should be discontinued.

There is however need to discuss with the treating Doctor about stopping it and for other treatment options.

I think that a monitoring period without drugs after stopping Levetiracetam should give the necessary information if there is need for treatment or not.

Remember, if the Levetiracetam will be discontinued, it should be stopped gradually not cold turkey, in order to avoid withdrawal symptoms.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
