Question : my left upper back has been having sharp pains when i move or breathe for the last 3 days. i have tried 800mg otc motrin with no relief and Robaxin 150mg with no relief. Massage makes if worse and it feels bruised. my chest over all feels tight like i cant take a deep breath and i have had a feeling overall fatigue. other symptoms has been severe sore throat. headache and joint pain in my legs along with cramping in my feet and calves like im dehydrated but im drinking normally. when do u start to worry about going to er or urgent care?

Hello,

I can understand your concern. Here is my advice.

As you are not getting relief even after tab. robaxin and tab. motrin, so I think this should be evaluated. Let me know do you have fever, history of injury to back, cough with yellow or green phlegm?

Kindly seek urgent medical help if you are having breathing difficulty, chest pain, high grade fever, dizziness, fatigue, raised heart beats.

Till then continue tab. motrin every 6 hourly. Apply heat pads. You can also apply diclofenac gel or ointment.

For sore throat, do saline gargles or betadine gargles. Keep yourself hydrated.
