Question : my son has had pneumonia off and on for two months, he is on his third round of antibiotics, and still very week. He has had a x-ray and it showed a very small spot in the lower section of his left lung. He is 30 and has never smoked. is there something else we should do
Brief Answer:
Get done CT thorax and bronchoscopy
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your question on Ask a doctor forum.
I can understand your concern.
Your son is having chronic pneumonia, persistent x ray opacity.
So we need to rule out
1. Drug resistant infection
2. Malignancy
3. TB
So get done CT thorax and bronchoscopy.
Please let me know if these reports are already done.
I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
