The symptoms are often worst at night and with certain activities involving the hand and wrists.
If this is bothering you or if the numbness persists, I would recommend seeing a doctor about this so that they can do an examination, and possibly other EMG or nerve conduction studies to confirm the diagnosis and determine how severe it is. Initial treatment is with a wrist brace, worn especially at night, which can help keep the median nerve from being compressed. Later treatments including steroid injections, and, if everything else doesn't work, surgery.
