Question : swelling and pain in finger
Brief Answer:
Seems to be paronychia....
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
From the pictures, it seems to be paronychia. It is caused by an infection. Do you have history of diabetes?
I would suggest you try home remedies such as soaking the affected finger in warm water mixed with an antiseptic solution like dettol. Application of an antiseptic cream like neosporin cream on the affected area can be helpful. In addition if the pain is severe, antiinflammatory pain killer like diclofenac can be tried twice a day.
Some times the swelling can worsen and there may be pus pointing. If you notice any such issues, you may need to see a doctor to drain the collection.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards
