Question : there is a lump between my neck and shoulder. no pain at lump but upper arm hurts
Brief Answer:
Please give additional information. Put the affected limb in a sling .
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query, albeit short.
Please give additional information for me to assist you better:
Since when is the lump noticed by you?
What is the size?
Is it XXXXXXX or fixed?
Any tenderness (pain on pressure)?
Did the pain at upper arm start at the same time when the lump appeared?
Awaiting for your feedback.
Till then take an anti-inflammatory like Ibuprofen if it suits you.
Rest the affected elbow in a sling so that pain at the upper arm is eased.

I just noticed it this morning. don't know when it really started. it is the size of an egg. soft. I would say it is fixed.no pain. arm started a few days ago. thought it was from lifting boxes. but pain did not go away. neck feels like a stiff neck.
Brief Answer:
As detailed below.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
Yes, this looks to be due to lifting boxes, causing muscle spasm and possibly the lump may be related to the same as it is fixed.
This would cause myospasm and pain as you have described in neck and upper arm.
Take an anti-inflammatory and use sling to give rest to the neck and arm as discussed above.
Warm fomentation may also help.
IF these measure fail to give relief then it would be better to get examined and investigated as needed.
I hope this answer helps you.
