Two Nights Ago I Went To Get Out Of Bed

Question: two nights ago I went to get out of bed and when I put my right leg down on the ground I fell because my leg couldnt hold me- I tried to stand again right after and fell again, then a short time later after crawling to the bathroom I was able to stand. I also had a very short moment when I couldnt hold my 4 lb dog with my right arm that same night- I feel fairly normal now but I have never had that happen. I have had some low back pain but nothing sharp or stabbing.

how long does it normally take to get an answer?
Brief Answer:
Possible nerve compression
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
If this is a single episode, happened just once, possibly it is nothing to worry about.
Possibly it comes as a result of nerve compression, from staying in a certain position for long time it cause lack of blood flow around the nerves ( femoral nerve and brachial nerves) of the same side of body.
This results in weakness and that's why you couldn't stand up for some minutes and couldn't hold your dog.
Just moving around and changing position relieved the compression, stimulating circulation and regaining strength.
Even this mild low back pain can be related to obliged position you may be having recently.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
