Question : what does blackish stools indicate
Brief Answer:
Need to rule out presence of blood
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
A black stool may be related to the type food you consume. It could be related to medications - iron pills, aspirin, antiplatelet drugs and or anticoagulants. Sometimes, it could be due to presence of altered blood in stools.
If you are on any regular medications, please list it here. If not, I will recommend to get stool tested - routine and occult blood. Further treatment if any is based on stool test results. Your local doctor can order the tests.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you need clarifications.
Regards
