Brief Answer:
70-100 mg/dL

Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using 'Ask a Doctor'. Normal fasting blood glucose levels would be 70-100 mg/dL, or 3.9-5.5 mmol/L (depending on the units used where you are). 100-125 mg/dL (or 5.6-6.9 mmol/L) is considered pre-diabetes, and anything over 125 mg/dL (or 6.9 mmol/L) is considered to be diabetes.

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions about that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.

Brief Answer:
Diet is more important.

Detailed Answer:
Exercise can help lower your blood sugar, but even more important is your diet. If you are overweight at all, losing weight is the most important thing you can do to lower your blood sugar. Otherwise, avoid high-sugar foods, and instead try to eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and low-fat milk.

Please let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be glad to help any way I can.
