Question: Hi, i had protected sex on 23 XXXXXXX and took unwanted 72 before a week of my scheduled period (lmp date : 31 dec) generally have regular period. Period is delayed and took pregnancy test which is negative. When i am supposed to get my period.

Hi,

Emergency contraception can affect the length of your menstrual cycle. Your next periods can come later or earlier than expected. Still, generally, it may come up to one week earlier or later than your expected periods. Hence, you may wait up to one week of your expected date of your period. If, it is not there, after this period, then you are advised to take an HPT to rule out or confirm a pregnancy taking into consideration that there may be a failure rate of about 10% with use of EC.
