Food intolerance is a possible cause- further advices below
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor" service,
Diarrea after eating is a common finding and many times is related to food intolerance. The most common food intolerance is lactulose intolerance (from milk). Other food can be causing similar symptoms as well such as fatty food, especially if the pancreas is not producing enough enzymes.
- I would advise you to avoid milk in your diet. You can still take cheese and yogurt. Try to avoid fried or fatty food and a lot of oil or butter as well. Sweat things can also cause loose stools so try to limit these.
- If you use any medications, even medications for other conditions or supplements, this is important as some medications may affect your bowel and cause diarrhea, so you will need to discuss these with a doctor and make sure they are not the cause of loose stools.
- If you still have loose stools after 2-3 weeks of trying the above measures you will need to have some tests done: stools for ova and parasite, stool microscopy, stool culture, stool fat content, colonoscopy, TSH, etc.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General and Family Physician
