Wife Is 14 Weeks Pregnant. She Is 40 Years Old

Question: wife is 14 weeks pregnant. she is 40 years old and had mild spotting 2 days back. last scan was at 12 weeks and next visit is due after 2 weeks. she had mild spotting 2 days back. is this normal or should we visit the doctor?
