Will Testosterone Level Hamper Hair Growth?

Question: Hello , I am a 46 year old male . I have hypothyroidism for the last 10 years treated with Levothyroxine and stable for years with blood tests checking TSH and T4.

I have anxiety but dont take medication ,controlled by diet ,exercise and counselling when a flare up.
I am single for years and have noticed in the last couple of years that I get less erections compared to in my thirties when asleep and when I masturbate my penis shrinks and gets very light in sensation.
I have noticed sometimes like I couldnt physically feel the weight or size of my penis etc , it felt like there was nothing there when I was running for example.
I had a blood test done a year ago and asked for my testosterone also to be checked in a CBC checking Iron Thyroid ,Vitamin D, Diabetes , infections and others . My testosterone level was 10. something or 11, free Testosterone was normal and recently had a test done and it went slightly down to 10. something but my TSH has increased slightly in this recent test and so my thyroid meds have now increased.

So my question is , when the testosterone was tested a year ago and the thyroid levels were normal also then, would this be affecting my sexual libido erections etc I dont seem to get a erection daily or a hard one anymore and when masturbate seem to ejaculate quite quick.
My sleep is normal , exercise regularly and try to do a circuit gym glass twice a week since Oct 2023 ,some weeks I might miss a class etc I got acupuncture and added pumpkin seeds a dietary supplement and take take testosterone supplements .{natural ingredients like Maca extract etc}

I have normal body hair and no problems with gaining muscle and energy seems normal , I have a tiny bit of beard patchy baldness and mentioned to the urologist who seen me but he didnt seem too concerned.
He examined my genitals and checked my prostate and said everything is normal and said if I want a prescription for ED etc I could but I said I was ok because I didnt feel too bad and just wanted to see if my testosterone levels were normal and if I needed further investigation.

Since then I have become more aware and anxious of this and wondering is it normal to not get erections every morning and if a person had a ED problem would they notice a difference day to day in feeling of the weight and sensation of the genitals , would do feel lighter or different than if everything is normal. Im just not sure what is normal and I probably wouldnt have been worried at all if my testosterone levels were higher say 15 or something (Based in XXXXXXX normal range range 8 to 29) Could you please advise and I suppose I am attributing this to testosterone which may or may not be correct ?

Brief Answer:
Your issue of ED is due to anxiety and hyperthyroidism.

Detailed Answer:
Hello ,
Based on the facts that you have posted your problem of ED is due to two factors one is Hypothyroidism and other one is anxiety.

You need to continue taking Livothyroxine to keep your TSH levels within normal limits .As regards anxiety which is commonest cause for ED can be resolved with consuming a qualified Psychiatrist and counselling, meditation etc.

Taking Sildenafil as on demand on the day of planned sexual activity with your female partner will help to get hard and sustainable erection to have enjoyable sex.

Your Testosterone levels seem to be normal and not to get worried about minor variations in levels which is very common and acceptable.Taking exogenous Testosterone supplements have its own side effects and should be avoided unless it is below normal levels.

Thanks and Regards

Oh okay thank you . I thought a level of 10 or 11 taken when my thyroid levels were normal a year ago too meant I was in the low range of normal . So no need to worry about testosterone levels at all ?

And the symptoms I am describing sound somatic and not like a person with genuine ED? As a person wouldnt physically notice like Im saying if there was some some ED issues constantly every day it would only be around before or during intercourse right ? They wouldnt be complaining of lightness etc in that area or that they couldnt feel its presence or weight of the penis etc

Brief Answer:
Feeling presence of any organ of the body is not rule.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for follow up
.Under normal circumstance one does not have to feel presence of any individual organ in the body as all the organs of the body is a single unit

It is eyes we think of when looking at or ear while hearing and not otherwise.Similar is the case with penis we feel it’s presence when we pass urine or while doing sexual act.
. It is your anxiety that is bothering you as you are thinking of sexual organ( Penis)

Thanks and Regards
