What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After An Abortion?
Hello, I ve had a medical abortion about 6 weeks ago. I went for my follow up 2 weeks after I got it and they said it was complete. I felt back to normal a couple weeks after. But starting about a week ago, I ve been feeling nauseous all the time, with some cramping and pinkish/brownish discharge. I ve had protected sex with condoms. I ve taken two tests, a digital one last week that said I was 2-3 weeks pregnant , and another one just now with the lines. It was also positive. Is it possible that somehow the symptoms are not from a new pregnancy, and the tests are picking up old hormones? Or am I most likely pregnant again?
Hi, the pregnancy test will come positive till about 1 month after the abortion. It is due to the already formed hcg in the body. So, most probably you are not having a new pregnancy. Bleeding can occur irregularly after abortion. So, if it's heavy, you can take some medicines to stop it. Hope I have answered your question. Regards Dr khushboo
