11 Year Old Son, Having Light Patches, Eczema, Lighter Patch On Back. Should I Take Him To A Dermatologist?

I noticed 3 light patches on my 11 yr old son.. I thought it was vitilago but it hasn't lost complete and total pigmentation. He has eczema and the patch on his back is lighter then the rest of his skin but it hasn't lost all of its color. Could it be anything else? And should I take him to a dermatologists to find out?

Hi,

Thank you for your query.

One can lose colour in the skin following healing and you mention that your son has eczema. It is quite likely that eczema is causing the loss of pigmentation and the skin is appearing to be of lighter colour. As it is difficult to give any guidance without having a look at the lesion it is better that you consult the dermatologist who shall guide you accordingly.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son all the best.
