12 Weeks Pregnant, Itchy Red Patches On Feet, Swollen Bumps, Started After Wearing A New Pair Of Sandals. Advice?
hi, i'm 12 weeks pregnant and have very ithcy, red patches on my feet that have swollen bumps and sometimes white edges around the red puffy large bumps/swolleness. This happened the day I wore a pair of sandals that I have not worn in a while and the bottom of the shoe is made of rubber. As soon as I put them on, between my toes became really itchy and didn't feel right but I had to get to work. These symptoms have been persistent for over a week now. Lomitrin and tea tree oil and salt soaks are not really helping. Please help me.
The fact that the rash started after you used a particular pair of shoes implies that you had an allergic reaction to the shoes. This is also likely since you said the area is itching.
You may want to consider the use of a topical steroid cream to reduce the inflammatory response. This would not harm the baby because it would not be absorbed in significant amounts to enter into your blood stream.
You can speak to your doctor about the use of an oral antihistamine.
I hope this helps
