Anything over 100 beats per minute up to 150 beats per minute is considered Sinus Tachycardia. If you are at rest, a heart rate that high is abnormal and should be checked out. If you are exercising and you are a healthy adult, 130 beats per minute is a normal and expected response to the activity. Other things that can make your heart speed up over 100 beats per minute include stimulants like caffeine or cocaine, anxiety, pain, and cardiac disease. Again, if you find your heart is beating greater than 100 bpm at rest, see a doctor.
