17 Year Old Having Enlarged Spleen. Pain While Eating. Had A Fall In The Past. Could This Be Due To The Trauma?
My son is 17 and for 5 months now his spleen has been enlarged. It is now at 15.36cm. His test for mono is negagtive. I was just wondering what causes a spleen to keep enlarging? I m starting to worry. He seems to be healthy with the exception of pain and trouble eating. He did take a pretty nasty fall on his bike about 6 months ago, which makes me think it my be caused from trauma.
as your child has spleen enlarge and is suffering pain and trouble eating ..and his mono test is negative remember mono test negative dose not rule out chances of infections if symptoms persists you can repeat the test there are other Parasitic infections, such as toxoplasmosis Bacterial infections, such as endocarditis and liver disease may have enlarge spleen ......as you mention about the injury i do not think injury may be the cause because it will not take this much time to show its symptoms injury would be increasing its symptoms fast take care
