20 Weeks Pregnant, Severe Pain In Gall Bladder, Flutter In Upper Right Abdomen. Any Ideas?

Hi, I'm currently 20 weeks pregnant and I have a severe pain in the gall bladder area and my gynecologist suggested an ultra sound in that particular area for which i have an appointment next week. But I do have a flutter just like my baby's movements in the upper right abdomen, is this really my baby kicking or something going on in the gall bladder. Also I don't feel it as a muscle spasm just a flutter every now and then. Any suggestions or guidance would be really great!

Hello, I would be happy to help you with your question.

If all that you are feeling is a "flutter" then I would not worry too much. At 20 weeks, though, the top of the uterus is only at your belly button. So this "flutter" is almost certainly NOT your baby if it is way up near your gallbladder. Given the history of severe pain in the right upper quadrant, then the ultrasound is a good way to go.

I hope that this helps. If you have more questions, please click on "ASK ME A QUESTION" link above to directly ask me a question!
