27 Year Old With Diabetes. Bruised Legs And Feet. Blood In Urine. What Is Wrong?

I Am 27y old male and have recently been told I have diabetes, I have a physical handicap that makes exercise rough to accomplish. I have bruised feet and legs and don't know why. I also have been urinating lots of visible blood for a few days(dark red/brown), I have no kidney pain, urinary pain or discomfort. What could be going on?

Hello,
Since you have been diagnosed as having diabetes at the age of 27 years,it becomes very important to find the type of diabetes you are suffering from.
You may be having LADA ( latent autoimmune diabetes of adults) or MODY ( maturity onset diabetes of young ) or diabetes type 2.
There can be various tests like GAD antibodies test, islet antibodies test,C - peptide test and fasting insulin test which can differentiate between these various types of diabetes.
It is very important because treatment is different in different types of these diabetes.

Another question is regarding bruises and painless bleeding in urine.
The most likely cause for such an event may be due to
Some hematological disorder
Or bleeding due to consumption of aspirin or warfarin or CLOPIDEGROL.etc.
However you require thorough blood and urine testing and possibly CT abdomen and cystoscopy.

The fact is that all this requires consultation from either a diabetologist or an internal medicine specialist.
Best of luck
Thanks
