General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
HI, You are 29 wks pregnant.have cough after flue ,have difficulty in breathing in lying posture ,the cough is dry. The dry cough is many atimes allergic . Pl. get your blood TLC/DLC checked. it will confirm the type of cough. &help in priscribing proper medicines. You may need antibiotics, antiallergic & diethylcarbamazine pills to control the blood changes(if they are detected) cough syrups having chlorphenaramine maliate, codine will be helpful. Since you are pregnant, you should consult a physician take proper medicines prescribed. Till then Start taking care by-saline gargles, avoid sour/spicy/ice cold food A small roll of jaggary &turmeric mixture(kept in mouth to dissolve slowly) releives bouts of cough. Sleep in a propped up position for easy breathing. Take care Thank you.
