3 Months Pregnant, Suffering From Cold And Cough. Safe To Travel By Train?
Hello Doctor, My wife is 3 months pregnant. She is 22 years old. And we are staying out of my native. Now we are planning to go our native. Which is 2000 Kms. Please suggest by which journey will be comfortable. if we travel by train can it be problem. And she is got cold now, so in this situation can she take any cough & cold medicine or which medicine can be use? please suggest.
It safest to travel during the second trimester of pregnancy which starts from week 14 to week 26, during this time any form of travel, once comfortable, would be ok..At 3 mths your wife is almost in her second trimester.
In terms of the cold, it would be best to use medications only if absolutely necessary, paracetamol can be used if there is any sore throat or joint pain. She can also use fluids and get as much rest as possible.
If the cold becomes intolerable , she can consult her doctor before taking any medication.
I hope this helps
