Dear madam
Thanks for writing to us.
i wish i could give you an exact answer as i can feel your concern. But in a given case prognostication is near impossible.
A 74 years old male with anginal heart disease with heart failure has roughly 30%-40% chances of death in next 6 months but with a few riders:-
1. prognosis or prediction in a single case can not be done as the data is for a population.
2. the survival depends upon a number of factors, all of which have not been mentioned/ can not be judged on internet like how much leakage is their in valves/ what is his ejection fraction (heart pumping)/ how are his kidney functions? is he a diabetic? how much of his heart failure is due to anginal heart disease which can be rectified by angioplasty etc etc.
Even doing an angioplasty will be a tricky decision for your cardiologist as he will have to look at overall survival.
have faith and try to give him guideline based best treatment
sincerely
