33 Years Old, Bed Wetting Episode At Night, Recurring Condition. Cure For Condition?
I m a 33 year old woman and last night I wet the bed a bit. I dreamt I was going to the bathroom and the relief woke me up (to a wet bed). I was horrified. A few years ago I was at a concert and on my way home, there were no toilets and I ended up doing a full wee on the train (nobody noticed). It ruined my confidence for years and just as I thought I d got over it, then this happens. Is this normal or not?
Hello and welcome to HCM
I am afraid bed wetting is not normal at the age of 33.
The features that you you have mentioned- unable to control urination at odd places point towards a condition called DETRUSSOR INSTABILITY.
This is a condition where the muscles of the bladder are unable to contrat and relax normally, there is some kind of instability in the muscle.
The normal phenomenon of controlling urination at odd places such as in public is due to voluntary contraction of these muscles.
I suggest you to get bladder studies done by a specialist which will exactly find out the cause of this problem.
After knowing the exact cause you can get appropriate treatment.
Thanks and take care
