5 Weeks Pregnant, Suffering From PCOS, Brown Discharge While Wiping. What Could Be This?
Hi Im five weeks pregnant and I have PCOS. For the last ten days except two random days I have had brown discharge when I wipe. I went to A&E four days ago they said it was too early to do a scan and do a pregnancy test again in two weeks. just wondering could I have a burst cyst or something bleeding inside and pregnancy is fine?
Hi, Thanks for your question. Women with PCOS are prone to pregnancy complications like early miscarriages. This brown discharge could indicate either a threatened miscarriage or a missed miscarriage. If it is not possible for you to have a scan at this stage you may opt for a blood pregnancy test. If it is well in accordance to the period of gestation you are more likely to be carrying an ongoing pregnancy. If not, or if you have pain you should go for a trans-vaginal ultrasound. In addition you should report this discharge to your treating obstetrician. Your doctor may give you some medicine to support the pregnancy. You should also avoid sex & take rest. Wish you best of luck. Take care
