85 Year Old On High Blood Pressure Medication, Light Headed, Weak. On Cartia, Eliquis, Levothyroxine. What To Do ?
85 year old woman on high blood pressure medication, very light headed and weak after getting up in the morning, better if sleeping in sitting up in a chair. Her doctor is trying different high blood pressure medications but she is just getting worse. Names of medications she is on are (Cartia Xt 120 mg at bed time, Eliquis 5 mg one a day, Levothyroxine 25 mcg)
Cartia is Diltiazem – useful for management of blood pressure and heart rate Eliquis is apixaban – given for prevention / treatment of clots... The description suggests, she is having heart failure too The limited information provided is not sufficient enough to arrive at an appropriate conclusion.. You should discuss with her doctor – clinical examination and investigation should all be put together for proper management......
Take care Wishing speedy recovery God bless Good luck
