85 Yr Old Hospitalized With CHF, Pneumonia And COPD. Had Red Cheeks And Forehead. Having Low BP And Heart Rate. Worried About Red Cheeks?
My 85 yr old mother was hospitalized with CHF, pneumonia and COPD . One of her conditions before she was hospitalized was red cheeks and forehead . She is again showing that same redness. She is on a number of new pills for her heart, but what concerns me is that her face is red again. Is this something to worry about or make a call to her doctor about? Her b/p was 117/59 and her heart rate was 59.

The redness on her face might be related to an adverse drug reaction or may be due to a circulatory change. To identify the cause, a physical examination is needed. In case there is no associated itching or shortness of breath, this does not seem to be an emergency. Consulting her physician will be helpful.
