Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A few months ago, I was diagnosed with FIGO Grade 1 endometrial cancer. They did a robotic-assisted total hysterectomy and ooperectomy with a wash of the surrounding organs. The pathology report came back a week later stating that the cancerous tumor had been intact at the top of my uterus, Stage 1-A. They successfully removed everything vaginally in one piece. I was told I would not need radiation or chemo due to the fact that it was caught early, was located at the top of the uterus, and the size was 2 cm. I am due to get my 10-year colonoscopy. The previous one came back clean with no polyps 10 years ago. My question is: do I understand correctly that the adenocarcinoma they found in my uterus is related to colon cancers? Is there a connection? Am I now at high risk for colon cancer?
