A Little Over A Year Ago I Began Experiencing Extreme

A little over a year ago I began experiencing extreme amounts of mucus in my stools. I saw a GI doctor who ran a series of test and a colonoscopy and everything was normal. After a few months the mucus subsided. Recently, the mucus has reappeared. I am extremely bloated and often you can hear gas sounds from my belly. I often feel like I need to pass gas; but will only do so in the restroom because when I pass gas, the mucus "explodes" out. I have no stomach pain just louds sounds and mucus. I am trying to figure out what can be done to help with this. Any ideas?
