Abscessed Cyst Near The Ovary. Sore Throat, Lumps On The Tongue And Reddish Streaks. Allergy To Antibiotics?
I just came home from the hospital Friday night. I was in for a week for an abcess cyst near my ovary. I had oxygen in my nose, was told that because of the painkillers I was given. I had a very sore throat. My mom looked yesterday and thought it looked a bit like strep. Today it felt a little better this morning, then at lunch it burned like fire and hurt my tongue to swallow now. I have lumps on the back of my tongue, and there is a red streak, looks like someone scraped my tongue. Is this a possible allergic reaction to the antibiotics? Side effect from oxygen? I am so very worried. Thanks for your help!
There is possibility of some throat infection. That can be nosocomial either because of oxygen tube or raely can be side effect of antibiotics as you told. So you once consult ENT doctor and get examined to find out the actual cause of the problem. If needed you can go for throat swab for culture and sensitivity. And depending on the result you can go for the treatment. For more details you can ask me through: http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-sree-gouri-sr/63429 Take care.
