BUT THE DOC TELL ME TO DO A DOWN SYNDROM TEST SO AS PER MY ULTRASOUND REPORT IS IT ANY PROBLEM OR SIGN OF DOWN SYNDROM.
Hi,
Your ultrasound report is suggestive of a normal viable intrauterine pregnancy of about 17-18 weeks, except that the estimated fetal weight is a little higher. Cervical length is also normal. Ultrasound report alone cannot diagnose Down's syndrome, it needs to have an amniocentesis or CVS to confirm the diagnosis. Perhaps your doctor wanted to be sure, he is the better judge in your case. Down's syndrome is ruled out even without any hint when a woman conceives in late age,i.e., in the forties'. Wish you good health.
