Am I Pregnant If I Have Nausea, No Periods But I'm Breastfeeding?

Hi,

I'm 38 and breastfeeding my 6th child (6 months old). I don't have my period yet, and it usually takes about a year for it to start after each baby. Just found out that my husband "failed" his vasectomy post-op test. I've been nauseous for about a week, feeling exactly like I did with other pregnancies. I've gotten four negative Dollar Tree tests. I've always had accurate tests in the past. Is there any chance I'm pregnant? I don't understand how I could have enough hcg to make me nauseous, but not enough for a positive test. Thanks.

Hi,

The period of amenorrhea after delivery and while breast feeding can range any where from two to 18 months. The woman can conceive following unprotected sexual intercourse anytime after two months, even while breast feeding. It is suggested that you take a pregnancy test at least 15 days after last probable unprotected sexual intercourse for accurate results and if the test is indeterminate you can get a blood HCG test.
