Hello
Thanks for writing to us with your health concern.
Basically, in a healthy normal intra uterine pregnancy, the B HCG levels should more than double in 48 hours.
They DEFINITELY should not fall.
YEs, a dip in B HCG levels almost inevitably indicates a non viable pregnancy.
Termination is in order.
If you have a complete miscarriage naturally, thats good for you.
Otherwise, a surgical evacuation might be required to complete the process.
ANyways, please have an ultrasound to confirm that the abortion is indeed through.
Given your history of cramping and bleeding, with the drop in HCG levels, the diagnosis is almost confirmed though.
After an abortion, avoid pregnancy for atleast 6 months.
Take regular folic acid supplements in the meanwhile.
Take care.
