Hello,

Since your USG (Uterus) does not show any pathology, you do not have polyp, fibroid or endometriosis.

You are in the menopausal phase, menopause is a normal physiological process in women aged 45-55.

In this phase a natural decline of the reproductive hormones take place. Estrogen & progestin increase & decline in an irregular pattern & that causes irregular bleeding & spotting.

In some months you may have periods longer & heavier. If you are bleeding continuously, you are suggested to visit a gynae.

Get physically examined & evaluated. You may need a hormone replacement therapy (lowest & shortest therapy is recommended to avoid the risk of breast cancer, MI, Stroke, etc) or progesterone & antidepressants if needed.

You are suggested to lead a healthy lifestyle, maintain low BMI, exercise regularly, nutritious diet, supplement with vitamin D & calcium.

Stay away from cigarette smoking, alcohol or addictions if any.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Nupur K, General & Family Physician
