Any Suggestion For Having Dark Brown Discharge After Taking Petogen?
Hello, I recently started on Petogen 150mg. In the beginning of the year I had to abort a pregnancy. Since then my period was normal. Until recently all was well but now there is a dark brown substance which is coming out of me. Please tell me what this could be from and how it can be stopped.
Petogen 150 mg contains medroxyprogesterone, which serves the contraceptive purpose. While using the hormonal contraceptives intermenstrual spotting can be seen as a side effect. When the bleeding collects in the uterus and comes out after some period, that will present as dark brown discharge. Usually these side effects subside after the initial one to two months and cycles may regularize soon.
If it persist even after that, better to consult your gynecologist once and get examined and plan according to that whether to continue Petogen or to shift to some other method of contraception. Abortion which occurred long back may not affect present menstrual cycles usually.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
