Hi I m dr mehreen my husbnd hs been recntly diagnosed as diabetic complaining of polyuria so he went fr urine analysis he z also doctr in urine sugar ws positive so he went fr fastng blood sugar dt ws more than 200 then rbs ws 265 nd his hba1c z 8 nw he z taking glucophge bd nd sme diet cntrol today by accu chek his fastng ws 100 nd rbs 230 I m scared pl let me guide proper mannt fr him

In diabetes, the aim is a fasting of 70 to 130 and a 2 hour post meal of less than 180.

His fasting has improved but his 2 hour readings are still above range.

In terms of his diet, he would need to decrease his use of some carbohydrates, increase the use of vegetables.
Eliminate sodas and high calorie juices.

He may want to consider seeing a nutritionist for advice.
It would also be good to increase physical activity.
