Applied Peremethrin Cream After Sex. Itching In Penis And Scrotum. Any Thoughts?
I had sex with an Asian prostitute last night. After I went home and applied some peremethrin cream as a precaution against the creepy crawlies. I woke up this morning with a cool and itchy feeling around the base of me penis and scrotum. Kind if freaking out but I also understand this may just be a yeast thing. Any thoughts?
First of all, you didn't mention whether your sex contact was a protected or unprotected one. Yeast infection doesn't cause much itching in males unless if it is left over for weeks or uncleaned. Moreover yeast infection of scrotum is not common with intercourse and the same will not manifest on the very next morning. Permethrin has to be applied for Scabies or pediculosis. Prophylactic application not necessary unless the partner had definite evidence of either Scabies or Pediculosis. There could be a possibility of hypersensitivity reaction for permethrin in your case. If you can meet a Dermatologist he/she will able to come to a definite reason for the itching of the base of your penis and scrotum after careful examination and he will be able to treat the same.
If you had a unprotected exposure you may have to undergo a screening blood tests for HIV/STD/Hepatitis. Get well soon.
