Are 2 500mg Amoxicillin Thrice A Day The Right Dosage For Sinus Infection?

I have recently had some symptoms of a sinus infection so I went in to the doctor to get some antibiotics. She prescribed me amoxicillen which is what I normally take for this issue. I was just curious why she prescribed 2 500mg tablets taken three times a day. i just feel like 3000mg of it per day is a lot for a normal sinus infection. Help?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain maximum dose of amoxicillin that can be taken in a day is 6 grams and as you are given 2 tablets taken three times a day, it is although a high dose as commonly one tablet of 500 mg is given thrice a day for sinusitis..

So just reconfirm with your physician about the dosage but however the dosage given to you will also not be a overdose..
You can however take Pantoprazole empty stomach to prevent any digestive problems caused by antibiotics..
