Are 2 Weeks Bleeding Normal During First Time Periods?

My daughter is going to be 11 in Aug. and has recently got her first period. She started on the 29th of June and is still bleeding. It has been almost 2 weeks now. Her period is lighter now that it was and is starting to turn a reddish brown color. Is this normal for the first period or should I take her to see her Dr.? Sincerely Concerned Mother
