HI Doc, I am 43 y/o, mild drinker but but haven't had anything to drink in atleast a month. I am 5'11, 220 and no drug use. I just had a blood test as part of my annual military health assessment which revealed my AST is 40 and my ALT is 70. Are these levels off the chart? Should I be concerned? What can I do to lower my levels?
Hi, dear. I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Your ast and alt levrl is slightly high. And mostly it is due to some alcoholic liver changes. So no need to big worry. No any treatment is required if you don't have any symptoms. You should not take alcohol any more. That is enough for now. And you should go for repeat ast, alt level after 3 months. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
