Hello,

Antibiotics are not recommended for the treatment of fever and cold. For the symptomatic relief of fever and cold your daughter may be given the prescribed dose of Paracetamol every six hours along with cold sponging and good hydration. For nasal congestionsteam/vicks inhalation would be beneficial.

Indiscriminate use of antibiotics is not advisable to treat 'common cold' as it may result in unwanted side effects which can be trouble some and antibiotic resistance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali
